COMPANY PROFILE

Alconza Berango S.L. is a 100% Spanish owned private company of medium size specialising in building rotary machines. Alconza was founded in 1961, and for many years, there were several different engineering and financial groups involved in both the ownership and technical development of the company.

In 1995, the company completed a restructuring programme and as result became Alconza Berango S.L., starting a new era with new owners (as part of a Basque industrial consortium) and new commercial orientation.

The current number of Alconza employees is around 250 people and with the new company ownership structure, there are no financial or technical links with any international group or company. Alconza is a fully independent company with its own technical and commercial resources.

Since the company restructuring in 1995, Alconza has gone from strength to strength. The company’s success is based on:

-    One single range of products: AC ROTARY ELECTRIC MACHINES

-    Abandonment of the standard machine production. This means Alconza makes only SPECIAL PRODUCTS.

-    Production of large/medium size machines: 1 MW to 30 MW.  Production of small motors has ceased.

-    EXPORT DRIVEN. Currently Alconza exports more 90% of its production. The main export markets are:

-    Europe (Scandinavia, The Netherlands, Italy, France, UK and Germany)

-    USA and Canada

The Alconza factory is located in Berango, near Bilbao, in close proximity with Bilbao port and the Bilbao international airport with has daily flights to several European cities.
